Today I spent some time looking around the Bevier Engineering Library and just started to become very excited about the realization that studying this material and becoming familiar with it is now my job. The feeling that it’s my responsibility to learn as much as I can about my field reflects much differently to me than it did before.
Today, and this weekend, I’m dedicating to finishing this contract project. Right now, it’s the only thing holding me back from studying whatever I want to study whenever I want to. That’s a powerful feeling; for so long I’ve been working on other people’s things, now I’m working on what I want to and what I care about.
I hope this high stays. I’m loving my classes, my free study, and my research.
