Vegetarian Tuna Dip

Date: 2012-12-15
Tags: recipe

My family makes a “Tuna Dip” which consists of

  • 1 can of tuna
  • splash (or more) or lemon juice
  • 1 block of cream cheese

mixed well. It goes very well with BBQ chips.

I’m a vegetarian now and missed the dip (one of the very
few things, along with tripe) that I miss. Anne found a recipe
for a vegetarian tuna salad online and used it as a guide for
Vegetarian Tuna Dip:

  • 1 can of Chickpeas/Garbanzo beans, mashed
  • Old Bay seasoning
  • splash (or more) or lemon juice
  • 1 block of cream cheese

mixed well. It tastes as close as I could hope. My mom couldn’t tell
the difference while Anne and my dad claimed he could taste
the difference, but admitted that it was subtle.
