Adobe Air in Linux

I went to install Adobe Air 1.5 ir on a headless 32-bit linux box (ssh X forwarding and then running the app in Xvfb).
The installer said I needed gnome-keyring. I install it, start it, and export the vars it gives me.
No Joy.
Search. Search. Search.
No Joy.
I then decided to install all of gnome and run gnome-session….it worked.
